Biography

Amidst the cold mountains of Cuneo and the dreary hills of Cherasco in the North of Italy, Mortress was born — a band that weaves together black metal, death metal, and neoclassical elements, creating haunting melodies and dark yet hopeful atmospheres. Mortress is the fusion of Carlo Desimone's (guitar) solo project and Federica Ansanelli’s (bass/synth) one-woman band. The meeting revealed a unique artistic synergy. Joining the lineup is Lorenzo Aimo on drums, whose masterful use of cymbals and great creativity completes the ambience of the songs. After releasing their debut single in October 2024, Mortress completed their first full-length album in 2025, featuring Eric Castiglia on vocals. Later, Carlo Facchin joined the band, contributing vocals and lyrics to Mortress' second single, this solidifying the full lineup.
